“Being Indian, it was a proud movement for me to fly Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) during Aero Show in Bangalore”, said Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa during his address at CII Seminar on Make In India For Indian Air Force (IAF) here at Subroto Park Auditorium held on 23 May 2017.

ACM BS Dhanoa narrated his journey into flying for Indian Air Force.  Forty years back he was trained on aircrafts designed and manufactured in India. He was also an instructor on these ingenuously developed aircrafts like HJT Kiran. Prior to LCA, IAF operated HF-24 Marut through 60s and 80s. Sarang is also on indigenous advance light helicopter. He also remember those 17 pilots and engineers who made supreme sacrifice and lost their lives during the testing of these aircrafts. In the seminar all big defence manufacturing companies’ representatives participated.

RRM Dr Subhash Bhambre highlighted the dependence on foreign OEMs for their subsisting components. He insisted on progressively reducing the dependence on foreign manufacturers and develop the capacity ingenuously.
