BSF transit camp of 182 batallion attacked early morning today. Afgzal Guru Squad of terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) is reportedly involved in the attack. One of the three terrorist is killed by security forces. Two terrorists are said to be holed up in a building of the camp. As per sources, the route to the Srinagar airport is cordoned and airport is shut for the time being taking security of the passengers into account. The attack location is crucial as it adjoins other security establishment of IAF and Indian Army. Ministry of Home Affairs released the following statement on the attack:

As per BSF Control Room, todayat about 0415,  a group of  2-3 militants carried  attack on  BSF camp of 182 Bn BSF HQ near airport Srinagar, u/PS- Hamaama, district- Budgam, J&K. In this incident 03 jawans got injured. In retaliatory action by the troops 01 Fidayeen also killed. Encounter is in progress. Details awaited.

There have been a sudden spurt in infiltration and terror attack in J&K. Indian Army yesterday only foiled 2 infiltration bids in Rampur sector and Tangdhar sector each and killed 4 terrorists. Indian security forces are on guard for any proxy fidayeen attack at the instigation of Pakistan Army in view of the potential retaliation on first anniversary of the surgical strikes. A source in security establishment claimed that Srinagar Airport was the target. But alert security forces foiled the attempt.
