GOC-in-C Southern Army Command Visits Flood Affected Areas In Gujarat

Lt. Gen. PM Hariz, GOC-in-C Southern Army Command interacted with the Governor of Gujarat Om Prakash Kohli and Vijay Rupani, the Chief Minister of Gujarat on 27 July 2017, and assured them of the continued support of the Indian Army towards flood relief operations.

On 28 July, he also carried out a ground as well as aerial reconnaissance of the flood affected areas to take stock of the situation on ground. He assured the State Government of the Army’s continued commitment to Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations for the people of Gujarat in these trying times.

Air Marshal R K Dhir AOC in C South Western Air Command visited the flood affected areas today to take stock of the rescue and relief operations being undertaken by the IAF. The Air Marshal has been at the helm of affairs, taking charge overseeing operations by the Indian Air Force

The AOC in C also done an aerial survey of flood situation in Banaskantha and Patan by an IAF MI-17 aircraft. The AOC in C took an IAF Cheetah en route to Mehsana which has been one of the launching bases for IAF operations.
