Central Security And Investigation Team of Indian Air Force has arrested a Group Captain rank officer on charges of alleged espionage. According to sources, the arrested IAF spy is said to be honey trapped via Facebook and as the relationship turned intimate both, officer and woman, were communicating through whatsapp. The officer allegedly posted at Vayu Bhawan passed on some sensitive information through whatsapp.
A source told National Defence on condition of anonymity, “during routine counter intelligence surveillance carried out by the IAF’s Central Security and Investigation Team it was discovered that an officer was indulging in certain unwanted activities through unauthorised electronic devices which is against existing orders”. “He has been taken into custody for further questioning”, source added.
