Report Based on Global Times Comment dated 28 August 2017
After India refused to buckle under Chinese pressure, China now starts threatening India militarily. First China launched a massive false propaganda spreading lies that Doklam is it’s territoty; now dragon is trying to scare India through military drills which looks like bursting a few fire crackers by a kid in neighbour’s house on festivals like Diwali.
Chinese official mouth piece Global Times claimed that “India should get used to China’s military drills”.
The global times says “Troops from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA)’s Tibet Military Command conducted a 13-hour drill at an elevation of 4,600 meters in Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region”
The training was targeted at specific issues revealed in a high-altitude drill conducted in July, aiming to enhance combat capability. The July drills reportedly included rapid troop deployment and different military units working together on joint missions.
Meanwhile, a Chinese naval formation consisting of the destroyer Changchun, guided-missile frigate Jingzhou and supply vessel Chaohu conducted a live-fire drill in the western Indian Ocean. It said that the fleet carried out strikes against “enemy” surface ships and completed transverse replenishment of fuel and drinking water during a drill that lasted several days.
The global times asks in it’s opinion piece “Why doesn’t India get nervous when some Western countries hold frequent military exercises in this area? And why can’t the Chinese navy appear in the huge Indian Ocean?”
It cautions India “India should get used to the fact that China would be holding military exercises in its territory, and in international waters”.
By the way, anyone is free to troll Indian ocean waters as long as it is in Global maritime commons or International Waters. With regards to military exercises, India and China also holds joint military exercise Hand In Hand for which China this year has yet not responded. And for your information, India and Russia is also holding biggest ever tri-service joint military exercise Indra from 19th October to 29 October.
