US President Donald Trump and Indian PM Narendra Modi expressed resolve to destroy terrorism and radical Islamic terrorism in their joint statement in Washington DC. President Donald Trump termed security partnership between US and India very important. PM Modi emphasied that fighting terrorism and doing away with the terror sanctuaries will be very important part of India- US Strategic Partnership.
“The security partnership between India and US is incredibly important. Both our nations are struck by the evils of terrorism and we are both determined to destroy terrorist organisations and the radical ideology that drives them. We will destroy radical Islamic terrorism”, President Trump said in the his press statement after meeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Our militaries are working everyday to enhance cooperation between our military forces and next month they will join together with the Japanese Navy to take part in the largest maritime exercise ever conducted in the vast Indian Ocean”: President Trump
“I also thank Indian people for their contribution and efforts in Afghanistan and for joining us in applying in new sanctions against the North Korean regime. North Korean regime is causing tremendous problem and something that has to be dealt with and probably dealth with rapidly”, President Trump emphasied.
“We are also partners in dealing with current and future challenges that we are faced with. Today, in our meeting, we discussed serious challenges arisen out of terrorism, extremism and radicalisation, which the world is facing today. And we have agreed to enhance the cooperation”, said PM Modi in his statement after meeting the president Trump.
“Fighting terrorism and doing away with the sanctuaries, safe heavens will be important part of our cooperation. With respect to our common concern of terrorism, we will also enhance sharing of intelligence and exchanges of information to deepen and extend our policy coordination as far as possible” : PM Modi
“We also spoken at length on regional issues. The increasing instability due to terrorism in Afghanistan is one of our common concern. Both India and US have played an important role in rebuilding Afghanistan and ensuring security”: PM Modi
“In order to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan, we will maintain close consultation, and cooperation with the US to enhance coordination between our nations”: PM Modi
“In the Indo-Pacific region, in order to maintain peace and prosperity in the region, this is also another objective of our strategic partnership. In this area, the increasing possibilities in enhancing cooperation in order to protect our strategic interests, we will continue to determine dimensions of our partnership. We will continue to work with the USA in this region: PM Modi
“We have also decided to enhance the maritime cooperation between the two nations”: PM Modi
“President Trump and I, also spoken about bilateral defence technology, trade and manufacturing partnership, which I believe will be mutually beneficial to us”: PM Modi
“We have also discussed international issues and our common strategic interests. In this context, we are extremely grateful for the continued support of the United States for India’s membership in international institution and regimes. We truly appreciate the support because this is in the interest of both our nations”: PM Modi
