Indian Army To Put Up A Grand Show In Republic Day 2017 Parade

Indian Army is to showcase it’s might on the 68th Republic Day. The R-Day 2017 parade on Rajpath will have marching contingents from Territorial Army, Engineers Regiment, Gorkha Regiment, Bihar Regiment and 61 Cavalry led by Mechanised Infantry Regiment’s marching contingent. Indian Army is showcasing it’s indigenously developed long range 155mm, 45 caliber artillery gun ‘Dhanush’ (also termed as Desi Bofors gun) for the first time. Brahmos missile, Akash Army Launcher, T-90 Tanks (Bhishma), Infantry Combat Vehicle, Weapon Locating Radar (Swathi), CBRN Recce Vehicle, Transportable Satl Terminal, Troop Level Radar will be key weapon platforms Indian Army will showcase on this Republic Day 2017.
This year marching contingent from UAE would be centre of attraction as Abu Dhabi crown prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be the chief guest on this Republic Day. He is also the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE contingent is led by Lt Col Aboud. “We have 120 personnels and also some in spare to add if need be. The contingent represents UAE Army, Navy and Air Force besides Presidential guards”, said Lt. Col. Aboud while speaking to NationalDefence. The UAE marching contingent troops will hold M16 rifle while they march on Rajpath on 26 January.
