KONARK CORPS FLAGS – OFF MOUNT SATOPANTH EXPEDITION TO GARHWAL HIMALAYAS

New Delhi, 04 August  2018, a mountaineering expedition to Mount Satopanth was ‘Flagged Off’ by Lieutenant General R K Jagga, General Officer Commanding Konark Corps. Mount Satopanth is the second highest peak of the Gangotri Ranges of Garhwal Himalayas at a height of 7075 meter.  The expedition will start from Jaipur on 06 August  2018 and will culminate on 30 September 2018.  The challenging expedition is being undertaken by a team of one Officer, three Junior Commissioned Officers and 12 Jawans of Battle Axe Division. Battle Axe Division has a well trained team of mountaineers who will attempt to conquer Mount Satopanth in September 2018.

The expedition will provide an excellent opportunity to the team to challenge their physical and mental limits.  Applauding the team for undertaking such a challenging expedition, emphasing on the espirit-de-corps and the spirit of adventure that such expeditions inculcate, Lieutenant General R K Jagga, General Officer Commanding Konark Corps added that he is confident that the team will summit the peak successfully and will be an example for others to emulate.
