NEW DELHI, 27 FEBRUARY 2019
(To be read in conjunction with Lt Gen Shivane’s previous two write up, prior to the Air Strike :
A new dawn has risen on the Indian horizon on 26 Feb 2019. A dawn where the where the world saw India transform from a ‘Soft State associated with Strategic Restraint’ to a ‘Decisive Nation with Demonstrated Resolve’. A nation which has exhibited a strong political will, decisive military capability and fearless communication “Don’t Mess with Us”. The “Pak Strategy of Thousand Cuts” has been responded by “Indian Strategy of Behave or Bleed”. Pakistan stands diplomatically shamed, economically choked, and militarily bled. Pak’s so-called strategic asset – JeM stands blasted, bled and buried. The Pak military and ISI stands humiliated once again in the eyes of its own people. The traitors of India and Pak’s Pawns that exists within the state lie exposed and under fire – “watch out your time is also nearing”. Indeed, today we stand tall as proud Indians and the Indian Flag flutters with pride, not by the fresh breeze but with the breath of each martyr who stands avenged today.
Its time for clear strategic messaging of our intent to all concerned, with clarity and boldness, without mincing our words.
Message 1 (To Pak). “This is only the trailer, if you dare us again you will cease to exist”. The proportionality of response to any provocation will not only be punitive but in multiples of geometric proportion. The target is terrorism and its perpetuators not the people of Pakistan, thus sensibility lies in not allowing it on your soil. If you don’t heed we will hunt and haunt you, wherever you may so choose to locate it. There so no place now to hide. So, you are in a hopeless situation with multi front involvement, economically close to strangulation, internally being bled by your own creations and diplomatically doomed. Its still time to wake up and correct your strategic trajectory. People of Pakistan must know how their Army and Politicians are destroying them and their generations. Pak as Terroristan lies exposed to the world. While the world watches and debates, India acts decisively. A caution to your(Pak) so called strategic assets “ RUN, RUN and RUN to HELL”- the Indian Defence Forces assures you your Guaranteed Passage faster than you can imagine in bulk allotment.
Message 2 (To Pak and its Nuclear Myth). The stability instability paradox of nuclear umbrella for furtherance of proxy war and its myth has been busted. Space exists for a befitting conventional punitive response to Proxy war or limited war in the larger context. Pak’s threat of tactical nuclear weapons is hollow and self-defeating. The related silent message for those with strategic insight and creating euphoria of full-scale war between two nuclear states is, if Pak dares with irrationality, they would cease to exist with massive retaliation, which maybe even be preemptive if Pak’s intentions are discerned. Pak must face reality or doom in fiction. So, the message to Pak is ”Behave or Else___”
Message No 3 (To Pak and Collusive China Support). China’s collusive support to Pak is NOT for abetting terrorism and so not unconditional. China has itself been affected by the plague of terrorism and handles it firmly. Any support by China will harm its strategic culture and embarrass its global standing at this crucial point. The recent strong statement by UNSC against terror attack at Pulwama naming JEM, had China endorsing its stand. China will continue to twist itself into circles as it confronts the reality of having condemned the attack, acknowledged it was claimed by JeM and yet push the line that the group’s leaders must not be proscribed. Thus, China is on a low moral ground to support Pak here. Pak needs to be advised by those who have additional leverage and bonding to behave and mend its ways with an honourable retreat. So, the message to Pak is “There are no nations to stand by your nefarious designs; you have no friends if you support and breed terrorism”.
Message No 4 (To the World at Large) The world has been hit by global terrorism and must stand united in India’s fight against terrorism and its abettors. Let your individual near term interests not blur the larger long-term strategic threat which looms at large. Its time to stand united and support India and its courageous moral stand. Condemn an exposed Pakistan albeit Terroristan and give it the diplomatic isolation, economic sanctions and military pressures it deserves to reform or else face consequences.
Message No 5 (To Pawns of Pak and Traitors). May you be politicians, separatists, fundamentalist, flawed anti national ideologists or Pak pawns in general; your space for existence has shrunk and your designs exposed. Freedom of speech in Indian constitution does not justify your treason and antinational intent. So, time to decide which side of the fence do you belong. Kashmir is part of India and will remain so, albeit with traditional secularism / kashmiriyat and bonded nationalism. The nation will no longer tolerate you, if you don’t behave and “Be Indian”. An appeal to those who have strayed beyond the beaten path, return and join the mainstream before you lose your way never to return.
Message No 6 (To my Beloved Indians). Celebrate the joy of being Indian. “BE PROUD – BE FEARLESS- DREAM WITH YOUR EYES OPEN” for Indian Defence Forces promises “Safety, Honour and Wellbeing” of its citizens always and every time. The Indian soldier goes to the battlefield in honour of the tricolour flag, fully conscious of the fact that it may well be that he returns home wrapped up in it, and yet serves with pride for his motherland. The respect, dignity, wellbeing and stature of these soldiers in turn must be preserved and garnered by the nation and its people. THE NATION AND ITS ARMED FORCES SHALL NEVER FAIL ITS CITIZENS AND NEVER SPARE ITS ENEMIES.
