Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in KG sector at around 1250h today. Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively.
However, in the exchange of fire, Naik Mahendra Chemjung was grievously injured and succumbed to his injuries.
Naik Mahendra Chemjung aged 35 years, belonged to Chilingdin, Nepal and is survived by his wife Smt Nayan Kala Chemjung and one son.
Naik Mahendra Chemjung was a brave and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
