A Tri nation motorcycle expedition from ASSAM Rifles entered Bangladesh from Dawki – Tamabil border. The expedition is being undertaken as part of 183rd Raising Day celebrations of ASSAM Rifles and will cover Indian NE states, Bangladesh and Myanmar. The expedition has officers and soldiers from ASSAM Rifles with 14 motorcycles and support vehicles. The Bangladesh leg is Shillong border – Sylhet – Srimongol – Akhaura. They will visit some historical sites linked to Bangladesh Liberation War as well as interact with Muktijodhas. Cultural and sports activities have also been planned with the BGB.
Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, DG ASSAM Rifles also arrived at Sylhet for a three day visit along with the expedition team. He will interact with DG BGB and other officials during the visit.
