Both US and Iran has announced a two week long ceasefire following mediation by Pakistan. While both countries acknowledged role played by Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir, it is important to understand why and how both countries agreed for a ceasefire. President Trump who stared war with Iran to neutralize its nuclear weapon program and obliterate ballistic missile arsenal warned before the ceasefire that “a whole civilisation will die tonight” if Iran did not reopen the Strait. That means President Trump was facing the heat from the world for Hormuz blockade put by Iran. In response to Trump’s ultimate threat of wiping out Iran, Iran has put this video. Iran’s threat to blow off all oil, gas, energy and power infrastructure that would have US and allies deprived of the region’s oil and gas for years and will be forced to withdraw from the region. The Arab Nations were facing the Iranian rage and heat for hosting US military bases in their countries. With raining Iranian missiles and interceptors falling in civilian areas, these nations felt that one or another day Trump would push they to pay to share the economic cost of war. Trump gave a veiled Nuclear attack threat by putting out that whole civilization will be wiped out. The Centcom published an image of B2 Spirit bomber on its social media with a message saying, “U.S. Air Force crew chiefs perform pre-flight checks on a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber prior to a mission in support of Operation Epic Fury.
Moreover, open intel videos posted on social media alerted Iranian authorities about US intention of carrying out a bigger operation which Iran may not have any ready response as the strike could have been so devastating. The US rolled out its highly classified next-gen stealth drones for a strategic deployment against Iran. Open intel published Footage showed the highly classified U.S. RQ-180 stealth drone landing in Greece, likely tied to ongoing operations over Iran. The aircraft, long kept under strict secrecy, now appears to be operating more openly. Northrop Grumman RQ-180 (“White Bat”) plays important role in
deep-penetration ISR, stealth surveillance in contested airspace, possible electronic warfare relay, strategic SIGINT, It is designed to fly into heavily defended zones like Iran for overall battle management or for future war in Taiwan. RQ 9 can loiter at 60,000 to 70,000 feet with more that 24 hour endurance totally stealthy undetected and can monitor Iran’s- nuclear sites, watch missile launch areas, track mobile ballistic missile launchers, observe IRGC troop movement, locate air defense batteries. Equipped with AESA / SAR Radar, RQ-180 can intercept- military radio traffic, radar emissions, encrypted command links, air defense communications.
The RQ-180 may not need to fire weapons itself. Instead it can feed targets to: Northrop B-2 Spirit, Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider, Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, cruise missiles,
naval strike assets and possibly its classified operation includes managing a web of swarm drones including facial recognition. This creates a kill web: detect → identify → transmit → strike. For example: RQ-180 spots mobile missile launcher near Isfahan; coordinates instantly passed to strike aircraft; strike launched within minutes. RQ-9 works as stealth airborne communications hub and can talk to all assets from Satellites to drones in end to end loop. If you remember, Vice President JD Vance, hours before the announcement of ceasefire said in Budapest that President Trump may use some tools in US tool kit that have never been used. So perhaps as we all know nuclear is obsolete and world could have united against use of any nuclear weapon moreover it has collateral damage to its Arab allies like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Oman; US Military most likely was ready to unlease drone swarm fury in Iran in different roles including drones with capability of facial recognition. However, it has kept that arsenal top secret until it has to use it against its biggest adversary China if clashed over Taiwan to maintain surprise element.
Trump started the war to neutralize the imminent nuclear threat from Iran; however, it is yet to retrieve 440 kg 60% enriched Uranium because of which war started. It seems Iran have understood the US military capabilities to carry out Extraction operation as they saw how pilots were rescued. So, my understanding is that Iran in principle may have agreed to hand over the nuclear material to IAEA in due course of time.
Trump was facing the heat from allies amid Hormuz blockage that led to surge in gas and oil prices with shortages breeding resentment in citizens. Moreover, Trump understood that he has got no allies and supporters in this war except Israel. Even US’s best world war 2 ally UK and NATO refused to be part of the war. Many close nations including Japan distanced themselves from the war. Despite putting onus on countries, who use Hormuz strait, Trump felt the heat of rage, anger and inflation globally and domestically. And at the same time, Iran was under tremendous pressure for blocking Strait of Hormuz and Iranian authorities understood that they can not hold the blockade for long as many nation’s armed forces operate in that area and many nations diverted their submarines and aircraft carrier for any possible confrontation or forceful passage of their ships through the strait and to maintain freedom of navigation. Over 1000 ships were running out of food and replenishments. It was not just oil but fertilizers supply as well that would have created a global agriculture disruptions.
Ahmed al-Sharaa, the President of Syria in a Chatham House conversation said that Syria until unless attacked will not be part of the US – Israel Iran conflict.
UN Security council members China and Russia vetoes a resolution brought by Bahrain at a time when President Trump made his intentions clear. This also forces President Trump to accept ceasefire.
Trump was also under pressure for hitting school that led to killing of innocent young school children and many were raising voice against war crime.
Israel’s air defense and iron dome turned out to be farse against Iranian missiles and detection of ballistic missile only at the time of mobile launcher coming out of mountain made US military and IDF sweat. Despite claims of air dominance, Iran successfully hit Israeli and US military targets, aircraft, bases, missiles, neutralized drones.
UN Chief Secretary General Antonio Gueteres and Pope also condemned US action in Iran especially Trump’s statement “a whole civilisation will die tonight” if Iran did not reopen the Strait.
Pakistan, who played mediation has assured Saudi Arabia for protection against any threat emanating from Iran and at the same time, it played muslim brotherhood card with Iran. Pakistan’s Army Chief playing a role in ceasefire means that he managed Hamas and other Iranian proxies well to convince protection against US attacks as US President Trump owed him a lot for nominating him for nobel peace prize. Pakistan successfully convinced Iran for echoeing the US nuclear threat as reality that could have posed danger to other neighbours or even any harm to desalination plant may have caused uncounted deaths that fear may have pushed Iran adversaries and US allies to force Trump accept ceasefire.

Here is the 10-point plan for the conditional ceasefire, according to an Iranian state broadcaster:
- Complete cessation of the war on Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen
- Complete and permanent cessation of the war on Iran with no time limit
- Ending all conflicts in the region in their entirety
- Reopening the Strait of Hormuz
- Establishing a protocol and conditions to ensure freedom and security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz
- Full payment of compensation for reconstruction costs to Iran
- Full commitment to lifting sanctions on Iran
- Release of Iranian funds and frozen assets held by the United States
- Iran fully commits to not seeking possession of any nuclear weapons
- Immediate ceasefire takes effect on all fronts immediately upon approval of the above conditions
So now lets see the statement of both US and Iran that will give you a peep into the future outcome of this 2 week long ceasefire.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi says:-
“Iran’s position is being misrepresented by U.S. media.
We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms of a conclusive and lasting END to the illegal war that is imposed on us”.

In response to the brotherly request of PM Sharif in his tweet, and considering the request by the U.S. for negotiations based on its 15-point proposal as well as announcement by POTUS about acceptance of the general framework of Iran’s 10-point proposal as a basis for negotiations, I hereby declare on behalf of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council:
If attacks against Iran are halted, our Powerful Armed Forces will cease their defensive operations.
For a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.

Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East. We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated. On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution. So, it is not defeat of anyone rather acceptance of futility of the military conflict. Both sides could have come to the negotiating table much before. But perhaps as Trump says that new regime after decimating Khamenei regime is soft and willing to talk. My reading is Iran will hand over 60 per cent enriched Uranium to IAEA and will sign Abrahim Accord with Israel. USA will make Iran a part of its middle east redevelopment program and US companies will be exploring oil and gas reserves and critical minerals in Iran and US will be working with Iran for reconstruction.
Meanwhile, Governmeny of India has welcomed the ceasefire between the two waring nations. MEA India in a statement says and I quote, “We welcome the ceasefire reached and hope that it will lead to a lasting peace in West Asia. As we have continuously advocated earlier, deescalation, dialogue and diplomacy are essential to bring an early end to the ongoing conflict. The conflict has already caused immense suffering to people and disrupted global energy supply and trade networks. We expect that unimpeded freedom of navigation and global flow of commerce would prevail through the Strait of Hormuz”.
In all of this, Pakistan’s position strengthens as even without declaring an Islamic NATO, it is able to exerts its nuclear power influence in all muslim and Arab nations. Meanwhile, a large Shia Populaton in India including in Kashmir will admire Pakistan and will go in its sphere of influence that will subsequently pose problems for Indian agencies and armed forces in conflict zones.
