Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari visits HQ Maintenance Command and Solar Industries In Nagpur. Earlier in Delhi Air Chief Chaudhari said that India can export military systems and equipment to countries of “Global South”

Air Chief VR Chaudhari is in Nagpur for two-day visit to HQ Maintenance Command. He was received by Air Marshal Vibhas Pande AOC-in-C, Maintenance Command. He visited the Economic Explosives Limited (EEL) in Nagpur. He was received by Satyanarayan Nandlal Nuwal Founder, Chairman and Executive Director, Solar Group of Industries. He was taken around to various labs and facilities and was given an overview on the latest products being developed by the company. He visited various integrated plants and production facilities of Ammunition and explosives such as Chaff facility, Rocket Assembly bay and was also shown the mixing and casting of Pinaka Rockets.

During the interaction, the Chairman, Solar Industries apprised the CAS about various indigenous projects being undertaken at the industry like Military explosives, integration of rockets, loitering munition systems, weaponised drones (hexacopter), anti-drone missiles, bombs and war heads for armed forces. Two projects related to development of 125 Kg Bombs and Chaffs & Flares for IAF were also discussed with the CAS by the Chairman, EEL during the interaction. CAS appreciated the efforts put in by the firm. He also stressed that indigenous development of Universal Bomb as well as Chaffs & Flares will give a big boost to the ‘Atma Nirbharta Abhiyan’ in the field of ammunition & defence systems.

Earlier in the day Air Chief Chaudhari while speaking at the 20th Subroto Mukherjee seminar organised by the Centre for Air Power Studies on India and the Global South: Challenges and Opportunities emphasized on India’s growing indigenous defence capabilities that has opened the doors for partnerships with the countries of the Global South. He said and I quote, “Platforms like the light combat aircraft, light combat helicopter and Akash missile system offer competitive and reliable options for air forces of the Global South, boosting India’s economic and technological clout,”
