You Channel National Defence was first to confirm about the meeting citing highly placed sources in Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
PM Modi is expected to have bilateral meetings on the sidelines of BRICS Summit in Kazan presently being worked out. MEA will update as they finalized.

Foreign Secretary said, “how the agreement reached is not important at the moment”. Our priority is to implement it on the ground first”, he added. He emphasized that prior agreements on patrol or LAC were not discussed and the latest breakthrough achieved on the early morning of 21 October concern situations that emerged post June 2020.

Mr Misri also said that we need to focus on the disengagement first followed by de-induction and de-escalation at the opportune moment.
It will be first time post Galwan Valley clash that both the leaders will have a structured bilateral meeting.
Both the leaders earlier had opportunities for brief interaction on two occasions— One, on the sidelines of the G-20 summit at Bali in Indonesia in November 2022 and then again during the BRICS summit at Johannesburg in South Africa in August 2023.
Now all eyes are set on the bilateral meeting of PM Modi and Xi Jinping. It is the diplomacy at the end that wins. PM Modi has been emphasizing since beginning of Russia Ukraine war that this is not an era or war.
The ‘West’ will be scrutinizing the border “Patrol Agreement” and watching the Mo-Xi meeting anxiously.
