Imran Khan granted bail for two weeks in alleged Al- Qadir Trust corruption case by Islamabad High Court. He faces more than 140 cases filed against him across Pakistan post his ouster as PM last year. His fate is fixed not by the almighty but by Chinese. How?

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf party led by Imran Khan won election on the issue of corruption in CPEC. As Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan got an internal reports that was never made public in Pakistan, highlighting grave corruption by Chinese who over invoiced equipment and machinery causing loss of billions of dollars to Pakistan in Chinese funded CPEC.
Pakistan Army was the primary recipient of the gains of corruption by Chinese in CPEC as Army Generals had direct stake in some projects. But after coming to power, Imran Khan could not do much due to 1) Pakistan’s crumbling economy, 2) Pak military’s resistance against any such probes due to their bonhomie with Chinese leadership and 3) most vocal whistle blowers industrialist like Abdul Razzak Dawood were bought over by Chinese.
Pakistan’s military dictator Parvez Musharraf in November 1999 set up National Accountability Board to control politicians and influential Pakistanis. Perturbed and perplexed Chinese had no option but to fix Imran Khan forever as he was a nuance due to whom 62 billion dollar CPEC slowed down and many projects were shut down. Pakistan military who supported Imran Khan in election with understanding that he will not further his politics on corruption in CPEC felt ditched and dismayed as DG ISI was reporting day to day acts to military brass Bajwa.
Al Qadir Trust case started 5 years ago but Imran Khan and his third wife’s name appeared only in June 2022 just 2 months after his outer from Government. Pakistan Army Chief General Qama Jawed Bajwa a Chinese shooge used Pakistan Army’s stooges Anwaar ul Haq Kakar leading Balochistan Awami Party and Shahzain Bugti leading Jamhoori Watan Party to withdrew his support in no confidence motion; Imran Khan became first PM to loose no confidence vote first time in Pakistan history.
Interestingly Shahzain Bugti is grandson of late Akbar Bugti, a Baloch freedom proponent brutally murdered by Pakistan Army during Musharraf regime; But later Pakistan Army managed to cultivate him. Pakistan Army made sure that only a favourable Government survives. Now in this global situation, military coop or military rule will bring unprecedented international economic and political sanctions/ crackdown. CoAS Bajwa visited China in September just before his retirement in November.
His visit was not planned. His successor General Asim Munir was again a Chinese stooge and a General Munir hold grudges against Imran Khan, who sacked him from his powerful post of DG-ISI to place his favorite Lt Gen Faiz Hamid. Another military officer retire Lt Gen Asim Salim Bajwa also held grudges against Imran Khan who sacked him from CPEC Authority and Army had lost direct control to a corporate management person.
The latest arrest of Imran Khan and other cases against him are part of the Chinese ploy to fix him permanently until he diminishes in Pakistani politics or learnt lesson of Ironclad friendship with Chinese. The is proven by two latest visits and a phone call… Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Gen Asim Munir visited China for four days from 24th to 28th April this year less than a fortnight before Imran Khan’s arrest.
The second visit was Chinese Foreign minister Qin Gang just 2 days before the arrest of Imran Khan. During the visit General Asim Munir met Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs. Wang Yi reportedly promised him 2nd phase of CPEC – a proposed railway network connecting Pakistan’s port of Gwadar in Balochistan province to Kashgar in China’s western Xinjiang autonomous region only on condition of political stability and inclusion of more Chinese troops in CPEC security.
The new infrastructure would bring 58 billion US dollars to Pakistan. And Pakistan Army Generals are expected to get some 10 percent cut in the deal. For mutual reassurance, he had interactions with Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission and his PLA counterpart General Li Qiaoming.
When General Asim Munir was visiting China, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke to his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang in their first contact after Li Qiang took office. During the phone call Li Qiang promised continued financial help for Pakistan which is facing a serious political and economic crisis. Days later just before Imran’s arrest, Chinese foreign minister Qin Gang also visited Pakistan and met Army Chief General Asim Munir. It is clear that Pakistan’s foreign policy particularly vis-à-vis China is led by Pakistan Army who takes instructions how to run political and economic affair of it so called sovereign state.
So it is upto my Pakistani brothers if they can see the Chinese intervention in their political and economic affairs. If they do not take corrective measures Shylock China would impound their sovereignty one day. It is not about PoK or Gilgit Baltistan that is India’s soverign part but it is rest of Pakistan’s sovereignty. Save Imran Khan to save Pakistan.
